AGI-010

AGI has developed AGI-010, a modified release once-daily formulation of the proton pump inhibitor drug (PPI), omeprazole, based on our CHRONAB controlled release technology. AGI-010 is a dual modified release capsule containing both delayed and controlled release beads, which has a bimodal pharmacokinetic release profile for once-daily administration.

We believe AGI-010 will be particularly effective in treating the night-time symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including nocturnal acid breakthrough (NAB), a prevalent aspect of current PPI therapy of GERD. GERD is the most prevalent of the major gastrointestinal disorders and is most commonly treated with PPI drugs which achieve global annual sales in excess of US$20 billion. NAB is estimated to occur in at least 50 per cent of GERD patients on PPI therapy.

AGI has established in clinical testing the profile of improved night-time acid control compared to the current market-leading brand of omeprazole. AGI is now seeking partners to complete the regulatory development and commercialise AGI-010.
