AGI-006

AGI is developing AGI-006 for the treatment of a number of gastro-intestinal and related conditions. AGI-006 contains arbaclofen, the pure r-isomer form of the racemic drug, baclofen, which is currently marketed to treat CNS disorders. AGI has identified that the r-isomer is the primary active GABA-B agonist form of baclofen, a drug used to treat skeletal muscle spasm and spasticity in conditions such as multiple sclerosis, and appears to have improved tolerability and pharmacokinetic characteristics compared to the s-isomer.

AGI-006 has demonstrated a robust profile of beneficial effects on a range of dyspeptic symptoms in an initial Phase II proof-of-concept clinical study, and we believe that the profile of activity established to date supports the further development of AGI-006 in a number of clinical indications of unmet medical need, such as gastroparesis, GERD refractory to PPI therapy, and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), while AGI-006 may also represent an improved and better tolerated therapy for treating spasticity in MS patients.
